GOOGLE HEALTH GOOD OR BAD

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Reading new information this morning on health issues and I ran across an item that caught my eye. A new service called Google Health. It was new to me. I did not know that Google had gone into the health business. My question was: What is Google Health? Is Google Health a new humanitarian effort by Google or just another way to make more money? I needed to get more information on this new service.

So I Googled, Google Health. In seconds there it was on my computer screen. Big as life! Googling is great and very fast.

When Google Health came up, it required me to log into my Google Account before it would give me any information. Makes Sense!

First thing to do. Read the Google Health Terms of Service. It looks just like a legal agreement. Come to think of it, it is a legal agreement with 13 different sections.

Oh, there’s all the regular stuff like: Agreement, Not Medical Advice ( US Use Only), Account Use and then how they intend to Use Your Information. You will want to go over this section and the section on Content and Services Accessed through Google Health very thoroughly to make sure you agree to agree with Google.

Google wants you to indemnify and defend them against any third-party Google Health feature providers, if a problems comes up.

Go over the agreement in detail with someone who understands legalese. This is very important.

You also have to give Google an Authorization to authorize them to share your information in its entirety. This information may include the following: HIV or AIDS, Mental illness or any mental health condition, Alcohol or substance abuse, Sexually transmitted diseases, Pregnancy, Abortion or other family planning, Genetic tests or genetic diseases. Wow! That’s a lot of private info.

Medical databases are used daily by our doctors and insurance companies. This helps them provide better medical care for ourselves and families … but do you really want all of your medical information floating around on the web? Do you feel good about placing it in Google’s hands.

I know for myself, I will not be using Google Health anytime soon.

Will you use this new service? Is it something you would like to use in the future.

WOULD YOU CHOOSE ALTERNATIVE OVER GENERIC MEDICINE

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

An interesting article in Business Report by Florence de Vries, entitled, “Natural medicines take lead in industry.

Look what you find trying to keep up on alternative health. Lots going on today. People discovering natural products doing the job, minus side effects.

Quote, “The industry is growing at a phenomenal rate as alternative medicines are cheaper than generic medicines and people are prone to self-medication,” said Du Plessis.

Today natural medicine included in medical practitioner training courses. Do you think they finally get it?

Another quote, “We are seeing steady year-on-year sales increases of these products. They are becoming more popular due to their lack of contra-indications,” said Tamra Veley, the spokesperson of Pick n Pay.

Stan Goetsch, a director at Dis-Chem pharmacies, said: “We’ve seen growth in this category in excess of 20 percent in the past year.”

Imagine that! Sales increases in a down economy.

We have top quality, extensively tested products at Himaacala Health. They perform as advertised. We have a, no questions asked, money back guarantee if not satisfied.

Tell us your success stories with alternative medicine. Please leave a comment.

SHOULD ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE BE USED IN CANCER TREATMENT

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Patrick Rodgers wrote an interesting article “Better alternatives for cancer treatment.” I quote the aritcle:

“There is a swell building in world of medicine, particularly the field of cancer treatment. What was once considered “alternative medicine” – using nutritional and herbal supplements as a way of maintaining a more holistic approach to health – is fighting for a place at the table in the ongoing discussion of how to best treat cancer patients.”

The article indicates that years ago alternative medicine was “very folksy.” I am assuming that what is meant by this is that these were treatments that were passed down from older generations.

Did your mother ever use a “mustard plaster” on you to break up a bad cold? Her grandmother taught her mother and now your mother is doing the same thing for you. Not a lot of science! Just a lot of belief in the old family formula!

“Conventional medicine and naturopathic treatments do not have to be adversarial though, and when used properly, complimentary treatments can make a significant difference for the patients.” … “If you take the best of both realms and you piece them together intelligently you can get amazing results,” the article explains.”

The article is well written. If you are trying to decide between alternative and conventional medicine you should read it.

It is best to use alternative medicine that has science and testing behind it. You may be interested in looking at some the studies we have on our site at Himmaacala.

Would you use alternative medicine to treat cancer? Do you think that using this type of medicine is like going to a “medicine man” or taking some “witches brew.”

Let us know how you feel about this.

DO HERBS HELP JOINT PAIN

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Today joint pain/impairment affects about 21 million people in the United States. A major question is why so many people are turning to nutraceuticals or natural products to treat their pain and maximize the health of their bones and connective tissues.

Joint pain is associated with other problems that may incapacitate and impair your regular activities. Basketball, football, running, walking, gymnastics, twisting, turning, falling, as well as arthritic conditions in the body have caused many of us pain. Our joints, backs, arms, legs and feet just hurt.

Yesterday we had the mother of a young gymnast contact us to see if our Joint and Bone Support would help her daughter who hurts in several places. Because our products are all natural with no side effects, she wanted her daughter to try it.

Pharmaceuticals usually work like a laser beam and most have side effects. They zero in on a specific problem. Natural products work on the whole body. They create better “whole body” health and give you a feeling of well being.

Our Joint and Bone Support contains a unique blend of age-old herbs reported to improve bone and joint function. The herbs are highly effective and very potent and have been extensively tested for proven results. Just what you need when you have the discomfort of pain.

These are the main ingredients in each of our all natural Ayurveda capsules. Each of these herbs provides an important element in promoting Joint and Bone Support: Indian Tinospora, Winged Treebine, Tumeric, Guggul, Indian Frankincense and Pepper.

The herbs are blended in a proprietary formula in exact amounts in order to reduce pain and inflammation in the joints and improve bone health. Using the specified amounts and combination gives the synergistic effect the body needs to give you the desired results. This is why our scientific testing is so important.

Many companies sell herbal products. Some work and others don’t. Herbs can be in a product, but without the proper formulas and scientific testing, you do not get the multiplying effects our products provide. This is a very important point for you to remember.

According to herbal literature the actions of these herbs are as follows:

Indian Frankincense: Decreases swelling/inflammation, decreases pain related to swelling.

Guggul: Joint space and membrane penetration, decreases swelling/inflammation, relaxes muscles.

Winged Treebine: Regenerates cartilage, promotes healing, increases calcium, absorption into bone, and increases bone and muscle strength.

Pepper: Maintains concentration of formulation in the blood to provide quicker onset of action. (Bio-enhancer)

Tumeric: Decreases swelling, reduces pain, promotes healing, both antioxidant and antibacterial.

Indian Tinospora: Immune modulator, decreases swelling/inflammation.

If you have pain, go to Himaacala today and order some Joint and Bone Support capsules and see how they work for you.

They are all natural and provides your body with a synergistic effect to heal itself.

WHAT’S FOR DINNER

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

It’s after 5 p.m. I have been running all day and man am I hungry.

When I get really hungry … reason flies right out the window when I look at food. You know … it’s OK … tomorrow I will exercise 5 hours and 20 minutes to burn the calories off.

I just got back from my eye doctors. We talked about eyes, his humanitarian trips, herbal supplement and when he wanted to come back.

He was very interested in our herbal supplements and the scientific studies that have been performed. He took my business card and said he wanted to go to our site and look at the supplements and the studies.

I’ve gotten a little side tracked … back to food. I know what’s going to happen if I don’t have a plan for dinner. You know too. I think we have all been there, done that.

I was looking on the internet and found my answer. Fat-Smash-Diet. Right here was a post with the answers I needed. Someone on a fitness program and wanting to know what to eat. Hooray! Here was the perfect answer.

My perfect answer is right here. I would like a good menu.

My problem is solved! What do you think about my answer?
